Nokia 5530 Online Signing Process – Installing Unsigned Applications
When Nokia’s first Symbian Smartphone,7650 was launched it doesn’t require signing to install applications. As a result of which, it was more prone to virus attack.There was no need of signing applications for installation till Symbian S60v2. Since, S60v3 Nokia took this initiative as a security measure. By applications i mean all type of .sis and .sisx files, which includes softwares, games and themes.
Nokia 5530 is based on Symbian S60v5 OS, so it requires signing. If an application is already signed you will be able to install it, otherwise you will receive this error message “Certificate error, contact application vendor”. Initially the signing process was very cumbersome but now simpler online methods are available.
In this tutorial i will show you how to sign unsigned applications online in a few simple steps -
1. Open this URL in your web browser http://cer.opda.cn/en.You will see register on top right of you screen as in the above screenshot. Register and then login to your account.
2. After logging in click on “Sign Software” as in above screenshot. There you will see “Apply Cer”.Click on it.
3. It will take you to the above screen. Enter your model number i.e 5530. The Phone number should start with 134 or 135 and it should be 11 digits other wise you will get error. Check your phone’s IMEI number by typing *#06# on your phone’s virtual keyboard .”Remarks” is just for your reference. After applying you have to wait for 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours when you will click on “Apply Cer”.You will see 3 new options as Signing Software, Cer and Key. Click on “Signing Software” and it will take you to upload screen. You should also save “.cer” and “.key” file. In the next tutorial i will show you how to sign applications directly from your phone using these files.
5. Here you can upload the unsigned software.Enter anything in “Remarks” field for your reference and click on Upload.
6. After uploading successfully you will see the above screen. Download the signed application it is ready for installation on your 5530.
The first 4 steps you have to perform for the first time only. After wards you can just login and upload any unsigned software to get it signed.

I am wondering why Nokia is delaying its release in India? It just launched officially but still it is not available in stores. Whereas it is available in all the other countries including our neighboring country.
Does any one know when exactly it will be available in stores?

Usa este metodo “pepemino”, los “10″ digitos del numero de telefono son inventados, osea si tu telefono es (digamos) 555 444 3333, sustituyelo por 135 555 444 33.
El metodo anterior no me funciono a mi, tambien soy de México, este metodo de subir los archivos al cel, y luego aplicar los certificados manualmente funciona de maravilla.

It can be any number starting with 134/135 with total 11 digits.

might sound silly, but the above steps of obtaining certificate should be done from the cell phone itself or can it be done from my desktop and then transfer the signed apps to the cell and install…???

seems like im the only one who got a expired ceritiface error from my uploaded then downloaded files after doing exactly as the tutorial sad, and i cant install the free signer iven whit the phone date changed to 2008… also ther are some certificatesettings on the phone is it possible that they could be set wrong?

i applied for the certificate and also downloaded it from OPDA but even after that certificate when i install an unsigned application its says certificate error and when i sign the applications and tries to install it it says unable to install constrained by the certificate…:(
i tried it on many of the unsigned applications but the same error is coming. please helpp. what shud i do. i cant even sign hellox so i cud hack my fone.

hi…i’ve a problem when signing my software..when i upload the software and begin to upload it..this error screen was showed up

No longer works… I signed apps from this methord about a month ago but now it says user id and pass is wrong even though i tried it by creating 5 accounts…
