Nokia X6 – 5800 successor with capacitive touchscreen similar to iphone

If you’re bored with the old design of your Nokia 5800, its the time to upgrade. Nokia’s latest offering X6 proves itself as 5800 successor with capacitive touchscreen, 32 GB on-board memory and 5MPĀ  auto-focus camera. It belongs to the new Nokia X Series.

Gadget freaks have gone crazy for capacitive display since the launch of iphone. Nokia is the last one to introduce this feature. LG and Samsung already have phones with capacitive touchscreen.

So, what’s the difference between resistive and capacitive display?

Nokia X6

  • Capacitive display is faster and more responsive whereas resistiveĀ  is more accurate and cheaper to manufacture .
  • Capacitive is actual “touch” screen whereas resistive requires pressure to register touch.
  • While resistive touchscreen can be used with stylus as well as finger, capacitive works only with finger.
  • Capacitive display has an advantage of multitouch feature, i.e it can recognize input from 2 fingers at once. For example zooming an image with 2 fingers on iphone.

Let’s move from capacitive display to other features available in X6 -

  1. First of all, great blog :)

But i just don’t understand why nokia adds small improvements over their current phones and publish them like that. I mean capacitive screen & 32gb is a huge plus. But why not improve that 434 mhz cpu and add 40-50$ to the price anyway? I mean i do use 5530 and even tho its awsome, i’d love it to have a 500+ mhz cpu. Same for N97 if they’re gonna define such a high price for the phone.

Keep up the good work :)

  2. I completely agree with the comment above, specially having in mind that the new HTCs will come with a 1 GHz CPU… Sweet.

  3. I’am expecting new technology in new nokia smartphone, the feature still same. maybe nokia can put standar 802.11 N WIFI / WIMAX , 10 Mpix Camera with Xenon Flash,64 GB SSD,Clearly 1.3 Mpix Second Camera,Nvidia or Ati gpu,FingerPrint access, Cheap ? will we wait ?

  4. The price doesn’t justify the features…..
This is just another 5800 with capacitive screen, 32GB memory, 5 MPix Camera & a new shell….. These DO NOT justify a price that is twice that of the 5800….. Is NOKIA Listening…..???

  5. if u r really worried abt d price den u shuld opt for nokia x6 16gb which comes at a lower price……………….

  6. well u noe u can buy an iphone 3gs at this price…
and ne1 wud go for iphone over dis phone

  7. This phone is a joke!
