Which is your next touchscreen smartphone – Nokia 5530 or 5230 ?
It seems that Nokia is fed up with the competition from rivals Samsung and LG and has decided to capture the touch phones market in the shortest possible time.Till now Nokia had no touch phone in the price range of Samsung Star and LG KP500, this gap will now be filled by the newly arrived Nokia 5230.In the first look you will misjudge it with 5800. Same old 5800 looks and size. It will launch in two variants with huge price difference.
The basic version for 150 Euro and Comes-With-Music Version for 259 Euro.
So where does the 5230 basic model stand in comparison to 5530 XpressMusic ?

Differences between Nokia 5530 and 5230 -
- Appearance – Nokia 5530 has a slim, compact body with 20% lesser volume than 5230.The stainless steel border gives it a nice look and feel.5230 borrows the same old 5800 looks and size.
- Display - Nokia 5230 has a bigger 3.2 inch display while 5530 has 2.9 inch display.Although, the screen resolution is same.
- Memory - 5530 comes with a 4GB micro SD card included in the sales package.You have to purchase a memory card separately for 5230.
- Music - Nokia 5530 belongs to XpressMusic series, thus offers high quality audio through speakers and headphones.It has Front stereo speakers with surround sound.High quality noise isolating earphones are included in the sales package.5230 has mono speakers and the basic version will offer average audio quality.

I think the 5530 is still way better.

i am planning to buy a Nokia 5230 but i guess the 5530 sounds better… i’ll think about buying a nokia 5530 right after the Chritmas Holidays.

How do you know that? Have you tested it quality-wise? Because I think you are being fooled by XM brand and do not have any idea how actual tests work. GSMArena have tested 5230 and turns out that its audio quality is bettern than 5800 and 5530 and is a match for iPhone 3GS. Also 5530 does not have 3G which is ridiculous. For most people 3G is much more important than WLAN. Most of the time wherever you have WLAN access you already have a computer to use so there is no much need for browsing on your cell phone.
The only drawback of the 5230 is its ugly design which is identical to 5800′s.
Also I forgot about GPS. For many people GPS and 3G are much more important than WLAN.

it’s depends upon the preferences of the people. i’m really contented with my 5230 no matter what are the pros & cons of this phone as long as it have many features. by the way, nokia 5230 can handle as much as 32GB of memory…
I would go for the 5530 because of the nice design
and WiFi. But it would be better if the 5530 had GPS and 3G
but it doesn’t matter that much

Does the nokia 5230 have a resistive or capacitve screen ?
Nokia’s only one phone has capacitive touchscreen which is X6.

i bought my 5530 just a month back…and that to from mumbai where the prices r always like skyscrapers…in just 12,600 and now the price has dopped sown to 10,400 … u can even get it from vijya sales at the same price… in india … !
